Terms of use

1. What you're buying

A subscription gives one person a personal, non-transferable right to use the web version of the app or apps on your plan, for as long as the subscription is active. You're not buying the software itself, and you can't resell, sublicense, or share your access.

2. Billing

• Monthly plans are $1 per app, or $3 for all five, in US dollars.
• Yearly plans are $10 per app, or $30 for all five, which is about two months free.
• Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial. Cancel before it ends and you're not charged.
• After the trial, the plan renews automatically, monthly or yearly depending on which you chose, until you cancel.
• Payments are handled by Stripe. By subscribing you also accept Stripe's terms.
• Upgrading mid-cycle is prorated; downgrades, and switching between monthly and yearly, take effect at the next renewal.
• If a payment fails I'll retry, and access pauses if it keeps failing.

3. Cancelling

Cancel any time from your account page: "Manage billing", then cancel. You keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for, including the rest of the year on a yearly plan, and you won't be charged again. I don't ask you why and there's no retention flow.

4. Refunds

The free trial exists so a refund shouldn't be necessary. If you were charged for something you didn't want, email [email protected] within 14 days of the charge and I'll refund it. Consumer-law rights where you live are unaffected by anything here.

5. Your data is your responsibility

The web apps store everything you write in your own browser. I hold no copy and cannot recover it. If you clear site data, use private browsing, lose the device, or your browser evicts the storage, the journal is gone. Every app has a JSON export. Please use it. I am not liable for lost journal content.

6. Not professional advice

TransformationBuddy records weight, measurements, food-adjacent habits and photos, and T minus 90 records goals and reflections. They are journals, not clinicians. Nothing in any Buddy app is medical, nutritional, psychological or financial advice, and no number an app shows you is a diagnosis or a recommendation. Talk to a qualified professional before making decisions about your health, and especially before making significant changes to your diet, training, or medication.

If you're struggling with disordered eating, please consider whether tracking weight daily is right for you. Every metric in TransformationBuddy can be left blank, and the app works fine without a single weigh-in.

7. Acceptable use

Don't try to break, probe, overload, or circumvent the access controls on the service; don't share your sign-in link or account to give other people paid access; don't scrape or redistribute the app code. I can suspend an account that does these things, and I'll refund the unused part of the month if I do.

8. Availability

I aim to keep the service running, but this is a small operation and I don't offer an uptime guarantee. If a paid service is unavailable for a prolonged stretch, email me and I'll credit or refund the affected time.

9. Changes to the apps and the price

The apps will change. That's the point of a subscription. I may add, alter, or retire features. If I raise the price of your plan, I'll email you at least 30 days beforehand, and you can cancel before it applies. If I ever retire a web app entirely, I'll give you at least 60 days and make sure export still works.

10. Liability

The service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, I'm not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost data. Where liability can't be excluded, it's limited to the amount you paid me in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for fraud or anything else that can't lawfully be limited.

11. Ending an account

You can stop at any time by cancelling. I can end an account that breaches section 7, or if I shut the service down, with notice and a refund of the unused portion.
